The Why
With positive changes in the past decade in the speed, availability and accuracy of data, the real estate industry has undergone significant changes. These changes have led to an explosion of visitors to real estate web portals, more accurate pricing estimates, institutional/"ibuyers" purchasing homes and more and more homes selling for "efficient" prices. The average buyer and seller are now better informed than ever at what homes are worth, yet they aren't necessarily enjoying the savings. This means the proverbial "writing is on the wall" for traditional real estate agents, as an industry in change means these "middleman" costs must come down.
The How
By radically reducing the overall commissions coming out of a sale, Worth encourages savings to be passed on to the buyers and sellers involved. On a $500,000 value home, a seller would traditionally net $470,000 after paying a 6% commission. The buyer in this example is still paying $500k, but the seller only gets $470k! The growing list of 3rd parties (lenders, title, escrow, brokers, home warranty, home inspectors, etc) feeding off homes sales has only grown. These costs must come down and Worth intends to take a stand to ensure they do and change is realized.
